How do you clean a wood deck without damaging it?
Wood needs low to moderate pressure and a cleaner that lifts the gray layer chemically rather than by force. Too much pressure fuzzes the grain and leaves wand marks that show through stain. Composite gets a gentler wash aimed at the algae film in the grain. Either way, the deck comes out ready for stain or sealer if you want it.
Gray wood is not just cosmetic
UV breaks down the surface fibers of wood, and our wet springs and shaded yards feed mold and mildew into the grain. The gray look is the warning sign — left alone, boards soften, fasteners loosen, and an algae-covered deck becomes a slip risk.
Cleaning is also what makes stain and sealer last. Finish applied over gray, dirty wood fails early; finish applied over a clean, dry surface can last years.

Can you clean a composite deck?
Yes. Composite still grows algae in the grain. It gets a lower-pressure wash and a cleaner formulated for the material.
Do you stain decks after washing?
Cleaning is the service we quote. If your deck is a candidate for stain or sealer, we will tell you and talk through the timing.
Will fence washing hurt my plants?
Landscaping along the fence line is pre-wet and rinsed the same way we handle it around a house wash.
