Straight answers about power washing
The questions homeowners and business owners actually ask, answered without the sales pitch. If yours is not here, call or text and ask.
What is the difference between soft washing and pressure washing?
Pressure washing removes dirt with force and is right for concrete, pavers, and other hard surfaces. Soft washing uses low pressure plus a cleaning solution to kill algae and mildew at the root, which is what siding, stucco, painted wood, and roofs need. Using pressure where a soft wash belongs is how homes end up with streaked siding, lifted paint, and stripped shingle granules.

Method & safety
Will pressure washing damage my siding?
It can, which is why siding gets a soft wash instead. Low pressure plus a cleaning solution kills algae and mildew at the root without forcing water behind the siding or stripping paint.
What is the difference between soft washing and pressure washing?
Pressure washing uses force to remove dirt and works well on concrete. Soft washing uses low pressure and a cleaning solution to kill organic growth, which is what siding, stucco, and roofs need.
Is roof cleaning safe for shingles?
Low-pressure soft washing is safe. High pressure strips the granules off asphalt shingles and shortens the roof life, so it is never used on a roof.
Will the cleaning hurt my plants?
Landscaping is pre-wet before work starts and rinsed when it finishes. Protecting plants is part of the job.
Timing & seasons
How often should siding be cleaned?
Most homes in the Lehigh Valley do well on a yearly or every-other-year cycle. Shaded and tree-heavy walls green up faster and often need it annually.
What is the best time of year to clean driveways and patios?
Late summer and fall are ideal — clearing summer buildup before leaves stain the concrete and freeze-thaw sets in. Spring works well too.
Should I clean before winter?
Yes. Organic growth, leaf tannin, and grime left on surfaces over winter stain deeper and are harder to remove in spring. Gutters especially should be cleared before the freeze.
How often should gutters be cleaned?
Twice a year for most homes: late spring and again after the leaves finish dropping. Heavy tree cover can mean an extra mid-season check.
How often should a dryer vent be cleaned?
About once a year for a typical household, more often with heavy use or a long vent run.
Scheduling & logistics
How do I prepare for a pressure washing estimate?
Have the surface, rough size, and your town ready, plus a photo if you can. For commercial work, note your access hours and whether there is an outdoor water source.
Do you need water and power access?
An outdoor spigot is typically all we need. We will confirm access details when the job is scheduled.
Do I need to be home?
Not for most exterior work, as long as we have access to the areas being cleaned.
What surfaces can be bundled together?
House wash with driveway and walks, deck with patio and fence, or gutters with dryer vent and an exterior wash. Bundling shares one setup, which is why it prices better.
How do I get an estimate?
Call or text 610-704-5916 or send the estimate form. Commercial and deck-rebuild jobs are quoted after a short site walk.
Commercial
Can commercial work be done overnight?
Yes. Kitchen exhaust, drive-through lanes, dumpster pads, and storefronts are usually cleaned overnight or before opening.
How often does a restaurant hood need cleaning?
It follows cooking volume: high-volume and heavy-grease kitchens are typically quarterly, moderate kitchens semiannually, and low-volume operations annually.
How often should a dumpster pad be cleaned?
Monthly or quarterly for most restaurants. Summer heat and high volume push it toward monthly.
Do you offer recurring commercial service?
Yes, on weekly, biweekly, monthly, or quarterly cycles with a set visit window and predictable pricing.
How is commercial work priced?
After a site walk. Square footage, access, water source, and drainage all affect the number, so we look before quoting.
